Dr. Dennis Boos Citizenship Faculty Award

This award is named for Dennis Boos, who has been a faculty member at NC State from 1977 to the present. Outside the department, Professor Boos is known for publications in robust and nonparametric statistics including the bootstrap. Inside the department he has been heavily involved in the graduate program, overseeing the creation of many courses and modifications of the requirements for masters and PhD degrees. He is also known for generally supporting the Department in numerous ways that could be considered "good citizenship," and thus the name for this award. The Award is meant to honor individuals who have made significant contributions to the life of the department.
